Ducted (central) Warm Air Heating Systems
Ducted heating systems provide even, energy-efficient heating throughout your entire home. Unlike boilers these systems heat air instead of water, which is distributed to rooms via air registers or supplies. Ducted warm air systems are compatible with oil, propane, and electrical fuel sources, making them a versatile choice for Connecticut homeowners.
- Warm air systems can be enhanced with many add-on accessories
- Warm Air heating systems can also be combined with ducted cooling systems
- Quality Warm air systems are designed to last 25 years or more
- Flue condensing systems are available with efficiencies up to 96%
- Some models can be side-wall vented, needing NO chimney
- Warm air systems continually filter your air
How ducted warm air heating systems work
Ducted warm air heating systems work by heating air with a furnace that can be fueled by heating oil, propane or natural gas. Once air is heated, it is distributed throughout the home utilizing a blower assembly which forces the heated air through ductwork. The ductwork that provides heat to the different rooms of the home are referred to as supply ducts. The air that is returned back to the furnace for reheating, are referred to as return ducts.
The ductwork used to distribute heated air can also be used to distribute cool air from a central air conditioning system. Accessory add-ons such as humidifiers, UV air filters, and high performance media filters can also be added to a warm air ducted heating system.
Why Some Warm Air Heating Systems Fail
Warm air furnaces, depending upon quality, installation and design will have a life expectancy range from 15 years to over 30 years. There are a number of components that due to age and normal wear and tear will fail over time, however structurally the most common failures of warm air furnaces usually include combustion chamber or heat exchanger failures. Often times a combustion chamber failure can be repaired, however a heat exchanger failure will usually require replacement of the furnace. Heat exchanger failures can also pose significant hazards to homeowners, and severely impact safe operation of the heating system.

Warm Air Space Heating
Space heating solutions are available from Sippin energy products in many different types of configurations. Forced air space heaters are generally fired by natural gas or propane, and can be used to heat individual rooms, workshops or detached buildings where no central heating source is available. They are generally vented directly to the outdoors, and controlled by their own thermostat.
